Overview

Resolutions is an app and website built to help people track goals while managing their daily routines in one place.

Instead of switching between multiple apps for workouts, budgeting, and planning, Resolutions brings it all together.

Users can set goals, create custom templates, and even stay connected by sharing progress with friends and family.

The Struggle

Most people struggle to keep up with their goals because everything is scattered across different apps.

One app for workouts, another for tracking habits, another for budgeting—it’s overwhelming. This makes it harder to stay organized and stick to long-term routines.

92%

of people fail to reach their New Year’s goals.

45%

of people’s daily habits happen automatically.

60%

of people are more likely to stay consistent when sharing progress with others.

The solution was...

A single app that handles it all—goal tracking, routine management, and social accountability—so users can focus on their progress instead of juggling different tools.

Brainstorming — Laying out the foundation

This phase was all about defining the core idea:

Context Scenario: What are people struggling with?

Vision Statement: "How can I pack my life into one app?"

User Expectations: What should the app help users accomplish?

Key Path Scenarios: Mapping out the main user flows.

Research Phase — Getting the Facts

Before jumping into design, we needed to understand the market and what users actually wanted.

Literature Review: Researched habit formation and goal tracking.

Competitive Audit: Looked at existing apps to see what worked and what didn’t.

User Interviews: Talked to a range of people to get real insights.

Research Report: Compiled everything into one document to guide the design.

One big takeaway—users want something simple, but with enough flexibility to fit their personal routines.

Modeling Phase — Understanding Users

With research done, we moved on to defining user personas.

Personas helped us understand what different users actually need.

We used real user data to shape the design choices.

If the app doesn’t fit into people’s daily lives, they won’t use it. Keeping this in mind was key during this phase.

Framework — Turning Ideas into a Usable Product

This was where the design really started coming to life.

Created wireframes to plan out the layout.

Built prototypes to test different interactions.

Ran usability tests to make sure everything was easy to use.

Users liked how simple and clean the interface was—big win!

Polishing — Polishing the Experience

Final stage was all about iteration and improvement.

Tweaked the UI based on usability feedback.

Made small fixes to make things more intuitive.

Tested again to make sure the experience was smooth.

Good design is all about testing, refining, and testing again. Every small tweak made a difference in the final version.
