Wineury Almonte
User Experience Designer
Overview
For a project, we were given the task to develop an informative website prototype designed to inform the users about something new.
With the implementation of several laws and principles in the user interface design course, we must demonstrate our ability to use present the content in a way that is easy for users to understand and memorize information.
Project Goals
For this project, my goals were to create an interface that enabled users to have a seamless and engaging experience, deliver content that allows users to absorb information easily, and an interface that prioritizes accessibility, consistency and visual appeal.
The Process
I crafted a project proposal outlining how I intended to implement various user interface design principles and law towards my final project. In my proposal, I described my approach for incorporating each UI design principle into the interface. You can view the proposal through the link below.

User Interface Principles
Spatial Contiguity
Principle
The Spatial Contiguity Principle will be incorporated to demonstrate the usefulness of the mouse's software. This principle states that people learn better when corresponding words and pictures are integrated rather than separated. I will apply this by placing explanation text directly on or near the corresponding images of the mouse and its software, so that it is perceived as one or multiple whole graphics.

Law of Proximity
According to the psychological principle, the Law of Proximity, objects placed close to each other usually are to be perceived together as a group. This will be incorporated by putting related mouse details and visuals close to each other on the website to visually group them, so it is easier for users to look through to understand the connection between all the aspects of the mouse.

Fitt’s Law
Taking advantage of Fitts’s Law, stating that the time required to move to a specific area, such as a button, is completely dependent on the distance to the area and the size of the area. I will incorporate this by making interactive elements, like navigation buttons, larger and putting them closer together. This will help with making it easier for users to interact with important features by allowing for quicker clicks.

Tesler’s Law
According to Tesler’s Law, every system has an inherent number of complexities that can’t be removed/hidden, rather, it must be dealt with either in production or user interaction. Because of this, I will balance simplicity and information by including specifications of the mouse like its battery life, weight and other important information so the user has a full understanding of the mouse.

Miller’s Law
Lastly, Miller’s Law states that people can hold roughly around 7, plus or minus 2, things in their Working Memory all at once. Due to this, I will limit the number of pages that will be incorporated to describing and showcasing the software to around 5-7 pages.

Final Prototype
For my final project, I developed an informational website crafted to inform users about the Logitech G PRO X mouse. The content is organized into several sections: the Home Page provides an overview of the mouse, the Features section offers an in-depth analysis of its specs and performance, the Software page highlights the key features of the software used with the mouse, and the Where to Buy section directs users to purchase options.

Retrospective
Throughout this project, I came to appreciate the importance of balancing functionality with user experience. It’s not always about adding features, but making sure they can serve the user in a meaningful way. With this, I have gained a deeper understanding of how certain design choices and principles can greatly impact the overall usability.
